WELCOME TO THE CAT WEBSITE – HELP AND TIPS
Welcome to the wonderful world of cats! A big cat portal for cat lovers and cat guardians is being created here on this website. We would like to give you all the information here – whether it is about cat diseases, cat care, cat rescue, and also high quality cat products should be discussed here.

We look forward to your feedback and don’t forget to follow us on social media!

Before we started the portal here, the website was owned by the Felidae Verein from Frankfurt.

In honour of the previous owners of this website we would like to make a recommendation and tell the story of the Felidae Association here. We are not members of the association ourselves, but would like to express our great appreciation for the work and efforts of these people. Unfortunately, the club had to leave because no successor could be found.

This website used to be the website of the association described below. The new look of “Cats – Help and Tips” is now on this website. Should you, dear reader, want to know more about “Cats – Help and Tips”, please scroll down to the bottom of this article. Thanks for your understanding!

Here is the story of the previous website owner or the Felidae association:

About Us
On November 13, 1999, 13 dedicated cat lovers came together to establish the FELIDAE association – animal protection association and cat rescue. The truth was that some of the founding members had previously been volunteers and active in other associations for many years and therefore had clear goals for their future area of responsibility. That was also the reason why the work of the association was so successful and did a lot of good in the world for all cats.

Every animal rights activist can take an example from the self-sacrificing work of the association members!

How did it come about?
Prior to the foundation, there were many intensive discussions, and after contact with other animal welfare organisations, research, specialist reading, visits to the veterinary service and numerous agencies, the animal welfare activists increasingly decided that they wanted to establish their own animal welfare organisation. association for animal welfare. It was decided to concentrate on the “Katzennothilfe”, similar to what “Cats – Help and Tips” is now planning.

Then, there was a lot of work for the then new club: in October ’99, the club received a call for help via the World Wide Web from a young woman from Kassel, who reported a neglected Maine Coon kennel that was to be closed down. Some cats are in a very bad health condition and urgently need to find a new home. In the end, it was the “HISTORY OF THE COONIES” that accelerated the activities for the establishment of the FELIDAE animal protection association and Katzennothilfe.

But not only helping cats and kittens in such extreme emergencies is a project to which FELIDAE has devoted itself within its means. For years, FELIDAE has been strongly committed to ending the uncontrolled and senseless reproduction of male and female cats and the problems associated with it, and in this context, also organises castration campaigns for so-called “WILDLINGS” in order to stop the misery of the animals. However, at that time the association was only active regionally, namely Frankfurt/Main. Perhaps we will make a supra-regional work of “Cats – Help and Tips”. However, this is not yet certain and we cannot promise anything at the moment. In any case, our social media channels are all finished and only need to be filled with content. We from “Cats – Help and Tips” hope that with our help there will be less clubs to close. We hope that through our work more people will become enthusiastic about animal welfare.

But now back to the original history of the club that previously owned this website.

The Felidae Verein and “Cats – Help and Tips” also consider it very important to keep cats in a species-specific way and especially to prosecute violations of animal protection regulations in Germany. They therefore want to try to make people more aware of these problems. We see animal welfare as part of environmental protection. Of course we at “Cats – Help and Tips” want to continue this tradition of raising awareness.

At the time, Felidae only took in abandoned, abused or neglected cats in private foster homes, where the animals received help, shelter, food and above all individual human care.

At the time, Felidae only took in abandoned, mistreated or neglected cats in private foster homes, where the animals found help, shelter, food and, above all, individual human care. The necessary veterinary care was provided by specialist vets.

How was the club able to finance itself at the time?
The mediation of animals only covered a fraction of the considerable costs. FELIDAE had to collect the rest itself, as there was no financial support from the authorities. FELIDAE was therefore urgently dependent on help from donations.

Felidae’s dream was to one day own a nice, big and friendly cat house with a garden and outdoor area to give as many of these sweet creatures a protected, sometimes even permanent home as possible.

Please help, dear reader, so that no other clubs have to “throw in the towel”. Please check the site to see which clubs exist and to what extent you can donate or actively help.

Here on this website is now the offer of “Cats – Help and Tips”.

About the new offer on this website: “Cats – Help and Tips”
We also have a kind of charter – more specifically, it is about the content we offer – so it is not really a charter.

You always have the possibility to have your animal welfare association or animal shelter mentioned on our website. Please fill in the Word file or the PDF file and send it to us via e-mail or the contact form.

A large list of all cat welfare organisations is in the making. As it is a lot of work to make this list, it will take some time before we have it really complete.
